CAUNDLE (STOURTON), a parish in the hundred of BROWNSHALL, Sturminster division of the county of DORSET, 3½ miles (S.E.) from Milborne Port, containing 325 inhabitants.

The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, and in the patronage of Sir R. C. Hoare, Bart.
