PILSDON, a parish in the hundred of WHITCHURCH - CANONICORUM, Bridport division of the county of DORSET, 4½ miles (W. by S.) from Beaminster, containing 100 inhabitants.

The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £7. The Hon. Lady Damer was patroness in 1802. The church is small and very ancient.
